What our customers say

Real feedback from homeowners across Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire — from first survey through to final sweep.

We love the work you did… the idea of it, all your efforts to make it work, and the care you took to finish it well… despite wonky walls and a warped surround. Looking forward to seeing you in September for the service and sweep!

We contacted Martin after seeing his details on the HETAS website. We had an existing open fire with a tile surround and mantelpiece and were unsure whether it would be suitable for a woodburner. Martin was prompt and really helpful from our first contact and came round to carry out a full survey and explain what was involved. He was easy to contact at each stage of the process, friendly and efficient — we would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Thank you for doing those two jobs on the HETA Inspire Stoves. Just fired them both up and they look fantastic with the new glass.

    Questions answered

    Frequently asked

Answers to the things our customers ask most often about installation, sweeping and servicing.

Do I need to be HETAS registered to install a wood-burning stove?

Stoves must be installed to comply with UK Building Regulations (Approved Document J). Using a HETAS registered installer means the work is self-certified and you receive a certificate of compliance — no separate Building Control application or fee is required.

How much does a typical stove installation cost?

Installation costs vary based on the stove, whether a flue liner is needed, hearth work and any chimney adjustments. We provide free home surveys and fixed, no-obligation quotes so you know the full cost before committing.

Do I need a chimney liner?

A flue liner is usually required when installing a stove into an existing chimney to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with Building Regulations. We assess every chimney during the survey and advise accordingly.

How long does a stove installation take?

Most installations are completed in one to two days. Open fire to stove conversions or chimney opening work may take longer, which we will confirm at the quote stage.

How often should I have my chimney swept?

For wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves we recommend sweeping at least once a year, ideally before the heating season. Heavily used stoves or those burning unseasoned wood may need sweeping more often.

Are your stoves Ecodesign 2022 compliant?

Yes. All stoves we supply meet the Ecodesign 2022 requirements, which set stricter limits on emissions and improve efficiency compared with older models.

    Which areas do you cover?

Based in Heaton Chapel, Stockport, we install HETAS-approved wood-burning stoves and fireplaces across Stockport, Manchester and the surrounding areas — including Alderley Edge, Altrincham, Bowdon, Bramhall, Bredbury, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Chorlton, Didsbury and West Didsbury, Edgeley, Gatley, Hale, Handforth, Hazel Grove, Heald Green, Heaton Chapel, Heaton Mersey, Heaton Moor, Heaton Norris, Knutsford, Levenshulme, Marple, Mottram St Andrew, Offerton, Poynton, Prestbury, Reddish, Romiley, Sale, Timperley, Wilmslow and Woodley.
